Learn with the professionals – Expert telehandler training from Ivor King
The CPCS A17 Telescopic Handler (or Telehandler) training course, is a great start for anyone looking to follow a career in construction.
On just about every construction site, you’ll see a Telescopic Handler. The Telehandler is a wheeled vehicle, rather like a forklift with a telescopic boom, and is usually the main piece of kit responsible for loading and unloading trailers. They’re often seen as essential equipment for keeping sites moving, transporting materials to where they’re needed.
The course covers various aspects of operating a Telehandler. You’ll be expected to learn the correct processes for a number of tasks, including lifting at designated heights, unaided, on our brand-new loading tower.
Revision materials are sent out before you attend the course, so you can focus primarily on the practical aspects of the training during your time with us.
We specialise in one-to-one Telehandler courses based on experience. This means a quicker turnaround to complete training, equalling less time off work, and the chance to get back to earning even sooner.
Better still, we offer a free assessment if you’re unsure of how much training you may or may not require.
We can even offer the chance to take test only should you have the necessary Telehandler experience or hold a card from another awarding body.
Our Telehandlers are permanently available, allowing complete flexibility to offer you this course at a time and date to suit your requirements.
Successful delegates are awarded a two year CPCS Trained Operator (Red) Card, which will then transfer to a CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card once you’ve completed the required NVQ.
A career in Telehandler operation is one with room to progress, with many people later adding the Roto Telehandler (Rotating Telescopic Handler) to their licence. This is covered in the CPCS A77 Telescopic Handler 360˚ Slew course (click for more details).
We can also offer the CPCS A17e category, covering the correct procedures for carrying suspended loads from the machine and best practice methods in delivering this operation in the workplace.
With various projects such as HS2, there has never been a better time to upskill and get your Telehandler license. With a facility like ours, there is literally no better place to do so.
Join us at our professional and modern training facilities in the heart of the Midlands and get the skills to progress your career in the construction industry. Easily accessible, we’re only 20 miles drive from Birmingham and just an hour from London on the train.
