New Business Park in Nuneaton receives CFA Bearing Piles
Check out photos below from a project in our hometown of Nuneaton, where we’ve been installing around 200 bearing piles at the site of a new 26-hectare business park development.
Each bearing pile, 350mm in diameter and up to 15m in depth, is achieved by using the Continuous Flighted Auger (CFA) method of piling, utilising our powerful and versatile RTG RG21T Telescopic Leader Rig, capable of both sheet and bored piling.
First an auger drill with a hollow stem augers a hole to the required depth, then concrete is pumped under pressure through the stem and into the ground as the auger is being extracted. Finally, a prefabricated steel reinforcement cage is plunged into the wet concrete before setting occurs.
Local economy will benefit
The land, owned by the historic Arbury Estate will be home to a variety of industrial units to be used for storage and distribution.
Once complete, the development is estimated to provide a direct annual contribution of £50m into the economy of the Nuneaton & Bedworth area, whilst supporting the equivalent of around 1,500 full-time jobs.
