Ivor King working with other piling subcontractors to increase the number of skilled operatives in the industry
Our industry needs more skilled piling operatives, which is why we’re working in collaboration with other leading piling subcontractors in an effort to upskill existing workers and bring fresh new talent into the sector.
Fussey Piling are amongst the first to the party, taking full advantage of Ivor King Training’s modern facilities, which are purpose built for construction plant training. We can create the ‘real life’ scenarios likely to be encountered on-site, but in a controlled environment. All this without the inevitable ‘real-time pressures’ and restrictions that come with working at actual construction sites.
Using qualified and highly knowledgeable time-served instructors, the emphasis is on training operatives how to do the job brilliantly and reaching a level of excellence, rather than simply passing a test or ticking a box.
Investing in the future
We’re passionate about piling, which is why we’ve made a considerable investment in our training facilities, and we want to play our part in bringing through the next generation of skilled people to work in our fantastic industry.
Here we are delivering the first collaborative training course for another sheet piling sub-contractor, as Craig Wakem and Ben Simpson of Fussey Piling Limited receive Piling Rig Driver Training at our facilities in Nuneaton.
No substitute for experience
Craig said of the experience, ‘Brilliant to be instructed by experienced people who have actually done the job for real. Fantastic training.’ Whilst Ben remarked, ‘Very informative and a great location. I’ve been to places before where I really didn’t enjoy the training, but the opposite is true here, no complaints whatsoever.’
