Continual investment programme bring eco-friendly excavators to plant fleet
Here at Ivor King, we’re committed to continuous investment and improvement, that’s why we’ve just upgraded our fleet of plant with two new 35 tonne excavators.
Both sport the latest eco-efficient engines, and are shown here having gone out on their first assignments for IK.
One is a Kobelco SK350LC-11 seen installing a sheet pile retaining wall at the Fletton Parkway junction improvement scheme in Peterborough.
The other is a Hitachi ZX350LC-7 working on a flood defence project in Bude, Cornwall.
The Kobelco comes with a multi-purpose leader mast, which can be fitted with a rotary drive and hollow stem auger for CFA capability. Using the machine in this way yields a far greater reach than possible with a traditional leader or bored piling rig. This means the base machine can stand further back, often negating the need to build an expensive piling platform from which to operate, bringing advantages of both cost and time savings.
