Marking half a century in business with a special day of entertainment
It was a day of special celebrations as Ivor King marked 50 years of serving the construction and civil engineering sectors.
Staff, their family, friends and suppliers of the business were invited to an action-packed afternoon of fun, food, activities and live music.
The day, which happened on Saturday 4th May, was blessed with hours of glorious sunshine and lots of happy smiling faces.
In fact, the occasion was so successful, we’re considering making IvorFest an annual event.
The live music lasted into the early evening, including an Abba tribute act to entertain the crowds, perfect for a company which started life in the same year Waterloo was the Eurovision winner – 1974.
There was something for all ages, including children’s games and a bouncy castle, plus prizes on offer for the winners of the penalty shoot-out and welly wanging competitions. The tractor rides running throughout the afternoon also proved irresistible!
Special thanks must go to our many volunteers who helped the day go smoothly, and to the crew from St. John Ambulance who were on hand just in case (but happily weren’t needed).
Not only are we experts in piling, it turns out we know how to throw a good party, too!
