Kian goes beyond the call of duty to assist with medical emergency
Ivor King’s professional drivers are trained to expect the unexpected, but it has to be said one of our LGV Class 1 Drivers recently went above and beyond the call of duty, coming to the aid of someone experiencing health difficulties at the edge of the roadside.
Kian Tweedie was returning to HQ in his truck when he spotted an elderly couple in distress. Stopping to assist, he called the emergency services for medical assistance, but was advised an ambulance could be up to two hours away.
Fearing the gentleman might be suffering a stroke, Kian offered to drive the couple in their vehicle to the nearest hospital, the wife being unable to drive.
Kian’s quick thinking and swift action meant the man received the treatment he needed much more rapidly than might have otherwise been the case. A key decision, as time really is of the essence if you suspect someone is having a stroke.
We’re pleased to say the gentleman and his wife are now recovering from the ordeal and have since expressed their gratitude for Kian’s noble act of kindness.
Our drivers are the public face of Ivor King, so we’re naturally proud of Kian for the gallantry he displayed, and believe such positive behaviour deserves a reward.
